Join us for the third annual "I'm the First" First Generation Summit! The First Gen Summit celebrates first-generation college students, staff, faculty, and allies at the University of Iowa! First-generation college students are those that are the first in their family to go to a college or university. Fall 2019's First Year's Profile indicated 23% of incoming students are first-generation, USG wants to celebrate you!
The summit aims to not only increase awareness about all first-generation students attending the University of Iowa, but also identify and connect first-generation students to resources that can support their student success. The "I'm the first" First Generation Summit increases outreach, support, and allyship for first-generation students at the University of Iowa, as well as strengthen community ties with other first-generation graduate and professional students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other community members. Register below for a day of panels, fantastic speakers, lunch, and empowerment!
The event will be on Sunday, November 3rd from 11:00AM-3:00PM in the IMU 2nd Floor Ballroom. An Outlook calendar invite will be sent to all that register!
The First Gen Summit is in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Life office and the First Gen Task Force. Check out the other great events for the National First Generation College Celebration!
