In addition to our Governmental Relations Liaison, Dexter Golinghorst, President Mills and Vice President Brittain meet with government officials regularly. One of the biggest opportunities to expand on the relationship happens at the end of summer during UISG's Legislative Road Trip. The 2015 trip involved meetings with 6 legislators, traveling over 650 miles, and experiencing the diverse communities within Iowa.
Issues like expanding university relations, affordable tuition, construction at UIowa, and the future of the university were discussed. The relationships built during the past two days are vital to promoting the interest of students within the government. UISG thanks all of the legislators who took time to meet with us!
