Marco Morel, the USG director of sustainability, recently attended the Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability (UMACS) conference.

UMACS is a network of faculty, staff, and students from colleges and universities across the Upper Midwest, dedicated to fostering sustainability on campuses while addressing present and future environmental needs.

Reflecting on the event, Morel said, "It was super exciting to learn about all the sustainability initiatives happening on campuses across the Midwest, as well as meeting students, faculty, and staff all working towards making higher education more sustainable not only for students but the communities they exist in."

The conference featured seven pre-conference activities, keynote speeches, a Student Leadership Summit, networking sessions, and 35 breakout discussions, all focused on advancing sustainability in higher education.
