Earlier this week, the University of Iowa Undergraduate Student Government hosted its annual Shared Governance event—an evening dedicated to collaboration, open dialogue, and shaping the future of our campus community.
This year’s roundtable welcomed student leaders, faculty, staff, and administrators for an exchange of ideas focused on three key areas: Campus Safety and Wellbeing, Opportunity and Inclusion, and Academic Freedom. These themes reflect the core of what it means to be part of the Hawkeye community.
Vice President Emily Cross, who organized the event, emphasized the importance of Shared Governance as a defining value of the University of Iowa:
“This model not only reflects our university’s values of transparency and inclusivity but also ensures that every voice has a role in guiding the direction of our community.”
Shared Governance continues to serve as a powerful reminder that collaboration is one of our campus’s greatest strengths. We are grateful to all who participated in this year’s event, and we look forward to building on the ideas and energy shared in the room.
