What are some goals and/or initiatives you are excited to work on this term?: As a future physician, I am aware of the health discrepancies preventing individuals from receiving the care they need. I believe healthcare is a fundamental human right, yet many communities across Iowa are being denied this right. I am actively addressing this through my initiatives designed to provide equal access to healthcare for both students and underserved populations. This includes promoting flu vaccinations and offering free STO testing to the student body, as well as providing funding to UI mobile clinic. This is a student organisation which provides free health screenings, education, and basic services to underserved and underinsured populations throughout Iowa. By supporting their endeavours, I hope to help them expand their outreach and speciality clinic sites, ensuring access to healthcare for those who need it.
