Outdoor recycling is being improved in the T. Anne Cleary Walkway.  This project is part of the UI's effort to divert 60% of its waste from the landfills by 2020.

Partnership:  Thanks to a joint effort between UISG, ARH, Landscape Services, and the Office of Sustainability--and your demand to recycle more--you will see blue recycling bins added to the T. Anne Cleary Walkway between Chemistry Building, Pomerantz Center, and Blank Honors Center.

Sort-free:  These are sort-free recycling bins, just like others on campus.  Paper, plastic, metal, and cardboard are allowed.  Not allowed are plastic bags, glass, Styrofoam, food, and wrappers.

Success: Critical to the success of these bins and the future of outdoor recycling at the UI is your responsible use of them; since this is a pilot project, it's outcome will help determine future outdoor recycling plans on campus.

We need you!  Educate yourself, educate your peers, and please recycle responsibly!  A waste audit open to everyone will be held in the area on the walkway on April 30th from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to assess the success of the pilot.  We hope to see you there!
