As students of the University of Iowa, we are disappointed by the Iowa State Senate’s proposed $8. 6 million mid-year de-appropriation to our university.

"I'm the First"With 23% of the 2016 first-year class at the University of Iowa being first-generation students, the UI is a leader in higher education for first-generation student accessibility. First-generation students are students for whom neither parent nor guardian has received a baccalaureate degree.

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:   Last week, Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 hurricane made landfall over Texas causing catastrophic flooding and damage in Houston, Galveston, and Corpus Christi. This week we have continued to see the damage expand to areas in Louisiana.

Dear University of Iowa Students, Today, it was announced that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will be terminated in six months. The termination of DACA will revoke the documentation of nearly 800,000 students, many of whom study and work in universities and colleges across the nation.
